Before launch: the node image isn't public yet, so self-hosting opens up when Dissent launches. The guide is ready now if you want to read ahead.

What you need
Modest hardware.
- A VPS running Ubuntu or Debian: 2 vCPU and 2 GB RAM recommended
- A domain name pointing at the server
- Ports 80 and 443 open for chat, plus the UDP media ports for voice and video
